Recommendations[]
Schiavona is a Weapon focused on dealing high amounts of bonus Physical damage to higher-level enemies and even more damage when the Dragon Sphere is activated. Higher-level variants of this weapon have a decent amount of PIE, and it can be used prematurely by much lower-level players for boosting Holy damage, although this is not recommended.
Schiavona's +3 variant, Heavy Schiavona, is a trusty weapon for endgame (~Level 90+) players due to its high Dragon Sphere damage boost. When combined with STR-rich Accessories, such as high-level Ogre's Bangle variants, these boosts greatly increase the damage of Empress’s Dragon Sword Neo and Bandit’s basic Small-sword slash, which can clear floors of the Quest Ancient Gods very quickly.
For both Empress and Bandit, Heavy Schiavona is a highly recommended weapon when fighting against the final boss of the Quests Cavern of Torment: Floor 111-120 and Ancient Gods.

Lore[]
Real World Significance[]
The real-life schiavona was a Renaissance sword that became popular in Italy during the 16th and 17th centuries. The name came from the fact that the bodyguard of the Doge of Venice consisted largely of the Schiavoni, Istrian and Dalmatian Slavs. It was "widely recognizable for its 'cat's-head pommel' and distinctive handguard made up of many leaf-shaped brass or iron bars that was attached to the cross-bar and knucklebow rather than the pommel". It is classified as a true broadsword with a wider blade than modern-day civilian rapiers and is actually used as a cut-and-thrust sword.[1]
