Elements are player, enemy, and Weapon affinities that determine negative Status Ailments and Elemental strengths and weaknesses in Dragon Marked For Death.
DMFD’s 5 Elements are Fire, Thunder, Wind, Poison, and Ice. Each inflict the Status Ailments Burn, Paralysis, Confusion, Poison, and Frostbite, respectively.
Each player character has an Elemental Contract (AKA Dragon Contract) that changes the Element, controls, and / or attributes of their Dragon Skills.
If you are looking for the Elemental Contract differences for each playable character, please see the following pages:

The following table shows the effects of Status Ailments on players versus enemies. The effects are different for both.
Damage Calculations[]
Element Magic Attack Bonuses & Reductions[]
Witch’s and Oracle’s Magical damage increases or decreases based on if you use an Element that "wins" or an Element that "loses" against an enemy’s Element.[1] Effective Elemental Attack damage popups are yellow while ineffective ones are blue.
- Winning = 1.2x (or +20%)
- Losing = 0.8x (or -20%)
